Muscat: Muscat Municipality has announced about the financial facilities to reduce the effects regarding the business and community members during this period of COVID-19 pandemic.

A statement issued online by Muscat Municipality said, “In line with the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge to deal with the COVID-19, to help people overcome the effects of preventive measures that have taken during this period, Muscat Municipality decided to provide financial facilities including exempting of the commercial establishments from paying license renewal fees and municipal tax during the period from 19th March to August 31, 2020.”

“It has exempted restaurants and cafes from the municipal tax of 5 per cent and It has exempted those affected from the fines of residential and commercial rental contracts during the period from 9th February to the first of June, 2020,” the statement added.
