Arab women in media role to empowering nation and citizenship belonging

Amman, July 8, 2009 (WAM) – Minister of Culture Sabri Rbeihat on Wednesday inaugurated the 7th Arab Media Conference under the slogan “The Role of Arab Media in Promoting National Culture” at the Royal Cultural Center.

The Minister conveyed the greetings of HRH Princess Basma to the 40 participants representing 17 Arab countries, and wished them more success in achieving the progress and progress of the Arab nation.

Dr. Rabeehat said that culture can not reach the masses without media and the media can not continue or succeed without a well-established culture. He expressed his ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the media center and open new horizons for work to contribute to the challenges facing our national culture. Violence and consumer culture, especially in light of globalization, which creates new types of challenges that we must be ready to deal with, focusing on the role of media in promoting Jerusalem as the capital of Arab culture.
