Princess Basma Bint Talal opened the 6th Arab Media Conference, organized by the Arab Media Center in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation under the title “Towards a Comprehensive Arab Media Charter” which will last for three days.She expressed her confidence that the Arab women journalists who believe that freedom is the basis of responsibility will reach a media honor that is welcomed and accepted and worthy of carrying the responsibility of opinion, speech, image and directing Arab public opinion.She said that reaching a formula for this charter represents part of the challenge, not all of it, indicating that the other and more difficult part is the serious commitment to implement the Charter and to find successful mechanisms to follow up on how and how to implement this commitment.

She pointed out that the many experiences in the Arab world, whether in drafting media codes of honor, journalism or in other areas, sometimes led to comprehensive and consistent documents, but did not apply to raise the small issues that hinder us as Arabs from thinking about the fateful issues that surround Us.
